Recently, Radio Dubplate’s own Richard Banton caught up with the sultry Tessanne Chin, songstress on the wildly popular Never Let You Go record along with veteran gruff master, Shaggy. Never Let You Go is a radio hit that’s blazing up the Jamaican airwaves right now and the expectation is that it will do the same around the world this year.

Tessanne seems equally adept at giving an interview as singing a song. Eclectically inspired, Tessanne’s confidence within herself shines brightly throughout the entire exchange.

Hailing from a musical family, Tessanne makes it clear that she is “making music [she’s] proud of” and “…that represents [her] past, present and future”. After listening to the ease with which this conversation takes place, I’m certain that Ms. Chin will have a hold on you.
