Tony Matterhorn

Approximately a year and a half after a self imposed hiatus, Margie’s son, Mr. Dufton Taylor Jr., a.k.a. - Tony “Mentally Ill” Matterhorn – recently made his long awaited return to Canada. Returning after what he describes as “a fall out between friends”, Matterhorn said he had no choice but to “punish himself and don’t come”.

Upon his visit, Matterhorn sat down with Richard Banton in Radio Dubplate’s Toronto studio to discuss a wide range of topics. Accompanied by his humorous nature and over hype persona, Matterhorn spoke at length about current controversies within the Reggae industry, chart blazing songs and musicians as well as the inspiration he gets from his fans and haters alike.

Having started his musical career as a member of the Inner City sound system in the early 1990’s to gaining worldwide success as a dancehall deejay on “Dutty Wine” in 2006, Matterhorn continues to deliver smash hit singles to the Dancehall Reggae charts. More recently he received international accolades for 2009’s “Survivor”, a song dedicated to his mother.

With all of his noteworthy accomplishments we know that 2010 will be yet another successful year for Matterhorn, especially with the anticipated launch of his social media inspired song “Twitter Me” and “2010 Wine Fi Di Gal Dem”.
