Tony Matterhorn believes Wasp is the up and coming artist to watch out for in 2010! That’s high praise, indeed. But, it’s not hard to see where this acclaim is coming from after listening to the lyrics and substantive style of this singjay.

Describing Cry Fi Dem as a “natural song” and, with his quick pivot to remaking it as a tribute to the fallen in Haiti, Wasp is sounding a serious conscious note. In his interview with radiodubplate.com’s Richard Banton, Wasp makes it clear that “…me love write me song dem off a real life story.”

Listening to the interview and hearing Wasp speak about the process of writing the dancehall anthem – Unfair Officer – it’s clear that this artist has talent and passion in abundance. Add in some determination and a good team and there’s no telling how high Wasp will fly.
